The Lincoln Lawyer
by Michael Connelly
Mickey Haller, Defense Attorney, works in California mainly from the back of his Lincoln motor car. One of his clients is Louis Roulet who allegedly beat up a prostitute. With the help of an ex-cop, Raul Levin, Haller investigates the circumstances, meets some pretty dim detectives and then the trial starts.
Written in the first person from Haller’s perspective in a past tense.
Touches on the difference between NOT GUILTY and INNOCENT.
Here, in Merry England, he’d have been a Defence Advocate and wouldn’t have gotten himself into so much trouble.
